YOUR EXPERIENCE PROVIDER
Waringarri Aboriginal Art and Culture Tours, located in Kununurra in the Kimberley region of Western Australia offers authentic Aboriginal cultural experiences that include spectacular landscapes, art appreciation, music and storytelling with our Aboriginal artists.
With local Aboriginal artists and tour guides, experience a 'mantha' (traditional welcome), learn about "ngarrangarni" (Dreamtime) stories and understand contemporary Aboriginal histories. Share a conversation, listen to the haunting sounds of the didgeridoo, taste homemade damper and seasonal bush tucker. Learn a word or two in Miriwoong language followed by a good yarn and a laugh!
Your tour begins at the oldest Aboriginal Art Centre in Western Australia, Waringarri, meaning ‘big mob of people coming together’. We welcome you to our meeting place. Walk with us, talk with us, let us show you our culture through art, culture, sound and story telling.
Engage and be inspired by our artists and experience the meaning behind our artwork as you watch us painting in our own studios. Take this unique opportunity to see through the eyes of an artist as we paint and create.
Enjoy some bush tucker, damper and a cuppa whilst listening to the mesmerising sounds of the didgeridoo.
To conclude your experience why not purchase a unique gift to remember our culture and your experience from the gallery.
This 1.5 hour tour runs three times per week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30am.
