Rich in Aboriginal culture, Bouddi National Park offers stunning landscapes and ocean views. Your tour begins with an Acknowledgement of Country and sharing of our creation story.

From there you’ll be guided through the National Park to significant Aboriginal sites. View rock carvings, hear ancient stories and participate in a smoking ceremony to cleanse the mind and body. With each step you will gain a progressive understanding of Aboriginal history as your guide shares stories and ancient knowledge, providing insight into the oldest living culture on earth.

What to expect

A journey through the land with Girri Girra is something to savour. Walk in the footsteps of Australia’s first people and feel their living connection to the 21st century. Hear timeless stories, see original rock carvings and feel the power of connecting with this beautiful country.

The Bouddi Walk takes place in Bouddi National Park. The park and surrounding area contain many Aboriginal sites, more than 100 significant sites have been recorded, with more still likely to be found.

During the tour your guide will share stories, history and ancient knowledge that provide valuable insight into Bouddi National Park and the surrounding area.

Participants will also have the opportunity to witness a traditional Acknowledgement of Country, hear our creation story and participate in a traditional smoking ceremony.

What is included

Tour departs at 9:00am from United, 306 Empire Bay Dr, Empire Bay. Please meet your guide here and arrive 10 minutes prior to departure time.

The tour duration is 3 hours and the distance covered is 2.5km along both flat and inclined walking paths. Participants need to be able to stand and walk for the duration of the tour.

Tim Selwyn

Tim honours the ancient lore of his people and the spirits of his ancestors through art and teaching. His ancestral line comes from the Wongaibon people (Central West NSW), his Mother was born in Dubbo on Wiradjuri country and Tim was born in Gilgandra, on Wailwan country.

Few know the land upon which they grow like Tim and his people. Along with a network of experts in cultural dancing, singing, bush medicine and tucker, Girri Girra is committed to sharing this knowledge through firsthand experience, guiding people through this ancient country, its history and customs.
