Karyn Ross, Head of Market Development

Karyn Ross is a proud Mutti Mutti woman with over 20 years of experience working in the Aboriginal tourism industry. Holding senior management roles in the non-profit and government sectors. Roles have included Business Development, Product Development, marketing and communications, brand development, relationship manager, project and event management, strategy and process development. She has a proven track record of stakeholder management and relationships with Aboriginal businesses and communities, corporate Australia, State and Federal Government agencies and the tourism industry.

In 2007 one of her greatest work achievements was to develop and manage in conjunction with Tourism Australia, the inaugural Indigenous Tourism Australia Road Show to Europe, working with 15 Indigenous business from across the country and running trade and media shows direct in the European market.

In 2010 she co-founded and managed Cottesloe Beach Shack accommodation in Barwon Heads and ran a highly successful guest house for 8 years which featured online and in magazines winning numerous awards for the design. In 2014 she established an interior design and styling business working with a range of creatives to deliver outcomes. Her latest business venture is a new accommodation concept in Mullumbimby, NSW.

Karyn is incredibly passionate about working in an environment where she is challenged yet able to maintain her integrity and contribute to building sustainable economic Aboriginal communities and outcomes.
