Work Type: Permanent, Full Time: 37.5hrs p/w
Salary Band: Welcome to Country – Salary Band 1
The Role
As First Nations Engagement Coordinator you will contribute to the broader aim of the Marketing team to build our brand and to build and maintain healthy stakeholder relationships, specifically with WtC’s Suppliers and Operators that are First Nations led and operated (currently 145 businesses). Your primary focus will be engagement initiatives that benefit WtC’s First Nations’ Operators and Suppliers. These engagement activities will range in nature but may include community engagement, communications, promotions, events and/or community building. You will come to know our First Nations business partners well enough to be able to anticipate their needs and to help inform the sort of wrap around support that WtC should provide in order to optimise the experience of listing with WtC and joining our community.
Key Responsibilities
Help to create, build and maintain engagement initiatives that benefit Welcome to Country’s First Nation’s operators and suppliers
Maintain communication channels with Welcome to Country’s First Nation’s operators and suppliers (remote and in person when possible) specically around relevant news, offers, changes, blogs and general interest etc from Welcome to Country
Collaborate with all Marketing team members, as well as members of other teams at WtC and channel relevant information, content, good news stories
Help manage stakeholder engagement activities with WtC operators, suppliers, and the broader Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community to ensure successful relationships.
Collaborate with the Marketing Team to manage content marketing partnerships
Support the Marketing Team in managing internal and external Business-As-Usual (BAU) partnership initiatives, ensuring smooth execution and timely delivery.
Other duties, as required by the Head of Marketing, from time to time.
Experience/ Qualifications
A minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience working in a role as a Community Engagement Officer, Marketing Assistant or similar
Experience working in the First Nations community engagement/ tourism/ travel or retail sectors (desirable) Experience using design tools will be highly regarded, but not required
Knowledge of the Not-for-profit and/or social enterprise sector
Experience working with First Nations people and communities – mandatory
A degree in Community Services, Marketing or Communications will be highly regarded, but not required.
