Applications are now open for free one-on-one tourism mentoring services

This free program seeks to connect First Nations Tourism businesses with experienced First Nations Mentors to offer culturally safe and industry specific business mentoring services. The best part is this is a completely free  program designed to elevate First Nations Tourism in Australia.

The First Nations Tourism Mentoring Program (FNTMP), launched on 24 February 2023 and will provide First Nations tourism businesses across Australia with access to free, one-on-one mentoring services from experienced tourism industry professionals.

The FNTMP is being delivered by PwC’s Indigenous Consulting (PIC), a national First Nations consulting business, in partnership with Intrepid Travel, a certified B Corp with a mission to create positive change through travel, and Welcome to Country, a social enterprise working to elevate First Nations retail and tourism. This multi-sector partnership represents an outstanding opportunity to support the growth of the First Nations tourism sector.

“Welcome to Country exists to support greater economic independence of First Nations entrepreneurs to continue maintaining their cultural practices and sharing their culture to the world on their own terms. We work with suppliers and operators across Australia to provide a digital shopping experience that cannot be found anywhere else. First Nations Australian tourism is at an exciting and prosperous period, we want to ensure this is shared no matter where an operator comes from. This innovative mentoring program will provide our communities with what they need to support their journey. And we look forward to working together in partnership with PIC and Intrepid to build and deliver this program strengthening the industry as a whole.” Desmond Campbell, Chief Executive Officer, Welcome to Country.

Organisations and sole traders interested in becoming mentors or mentees are encouraged to submit an application via the FNTMP website https://www.fntmp.com.au/s/
